Program

Shared rest as a revolutionary act, as a ritual for transformation, as an act of resistance against this agitated, exhausting, overproductive, exploitative and destructively neoliberal world in which such rest is seen as luxury and turned into a business. No puc arrencar-me el cap is a celebration of the rest that is denied to us and a celebration (especially a celebration) of the care and affection that people give each other to make this rest possible.
Because, without the structures that enable us to let go without worrying about possible threats, that enable us to enjoy our rest without feeling guilty, that let us breathe for any necessary pauses, such rest will not be possible.
Alba Pujol leads this commission by L’Auditori, a hybrid proposal supported by a dream team.

Escenes, the proposed meeting place for artistic disciplines at L’Auditori, offers a fertile ground for creative freedom. Creation and fertility from a female regard, form and perspective will be the discursive thread of an artistic tale inspired by women and creation.

Who or what deprives us of rest? Who ensures that we get our daily rest? What rituals can help us on our journey from being awake to being asleep? An adult cradling a child, preparing them to take that journey to unconsciousness with music, words and movement, is a huge act of love. But what happens when we grow up? What happens to this cuddle, this solace, this falling into someone else’s arms to wake up within ourselves?
