Thomas Zehetmair steps in for Vilde Frang in the OBC programme dedicated to Beethoven’s Violin Concerto

Zehetmair will step in for Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang to perform Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major at L’Auditori. Vilde Frang’s agent expressed the violinist’s deep regret on having to cancel her week of appearances at L’Auditori. She has a particularly intense period of concerts and has decided to reduce her itinerary for health reasons.

Thomas Zehetmair, enjoys international acclaim not only as a violinist, but also as a conductor and chamber musician, making him one of today’s most outstanding artistic personalities. Throughout his career he has recorded a prolific number of works for the violin from many different musical eras, many of which have earned him multiple awards. Among his most acclaimed recording is the live Beethoven concert for Decca under the baton of the legendary conductor Frans Brüggen and his Orchestra of the 18th Century.
