L’intercanvi entre l’OBC i l’ONE es postposa a la temporada 22-23

25-Jan-2021 – Aleix Palau

The Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and the Spanish National Orchestra (ONE) have postponed the exchange that was due to take place on the weekend of 12, 13 and 14 February. The project, which both ensembles were really looking forward to, will now be moved to the 2022-23 season.

The decision to postpone the OBC’s trip to Madrid and the ONE’s trip to Barcelona was taken jointly in accordance with the rules on reduced travel ordered as a Covid-19 prevention measure following the increase in cases seen in each of their autonomous regions.

The programme that the OBC was planning to perform in the Spanish capital that weekend will now be performed at L’Auditori de Barcelona. The concert, under the name “Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme”, will be headlined by two essential cello works: Variations on a Rococo Theme and Nocturne, both of them by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Narek Hakhnazaryan will feature as the soloist.

The programme will also includeGustav Mahler’s Blumine (Floral) and the extraordinary suite Le Bourgeois gentilhomme (The Bourgeois Gentleman) by Richard Strauss. The OBC will be conducted by Kerem Hasan.
