La Cantània, més ‘Virtual’ que mai, convida als infants a fer vídeos des de casa i compartir-los a les xarxes

17-Jun-2020 – Aleix Palau

This year, due to the health crisis, the 125 concerts that were scheduled to take place at L’Auditori de Barcelona and also in the other cities that are part of the project could not be held. The Cantània that was to take place this season, entitled ‘Virtual’, will be performed live in 2021, but in the meantime, we invite you take part in a challenge on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

The Cantània, which this year celebrated its 31st anniversary, is a participatory activity in which 50,000 primary school age children from Catalonia, Spain and Portugal take part. Every year, a work created especially for this activity is commissioned and premiered. On this occasion, the composer Óscar Peñarroya has come up with the music and Cèsar Aparício has written the lyrics. On the new Cantània website you can find all the information about the project and the relevant materials (music, lyrics, choreography, etc.).

To take part, you simply need to choose a song from Virtual Cantània and have the children record it with the karaoke version in the background and, if they like, with a dance routine as well. It does not have to be the whole song. The format must be landscape. The video must be uploaded to Twitter, Instagram or Facebook with the hashtags #cantaniavirtual and #cantaniachallenge. The uploaded videos will be shared on the social media pages of L’Auditori de Barcelona.
