First confirmed acts for the upcoming Sit Back and Jazz Sessions season

15-May-2019 – Aleix Palau

We are starting to learn the names of some of the artists who will be performing in the ‎‎2019-20 Sit Back and Jazz Sessions season, and tickets ‎are now on sale for these concerts. ‎

‎ ‎
Two names are already confirmed for the Sit Back concerts: ‎‎Francesco Tristano and Robert Forster. Tristano will ‎appear at L’Auditori on 15 October with the collaboration of ‎‎Razzmatazz to present his work Tokyo ‎Stories, an album that distils his personal experiences of the Japanese city ‎and his deep-held admiration for it into 16 original pieces for piano and electronics. ‎
‎ ‎
Una nit amb Robert Forster en acústic (An Acoustic Evening with Robert ‎Forster) is the name chosen for the concert that the legendary Australian ‎musician will present at L’Auditori on 20 November as part of his ‎world tour, coinciding with the launch of his album Inferno. ‎This is an unmissable event that we are presenting in conjunction with ‎‎L’Afluent, where audiences will be able to see one of the musicians who ‎most contributed to sowing the seeds of what would become known in the eighties as ‎‎indie pop.‎

Meanwhile, the Jazz Sessions will be an opportunity to enjoy the duo ‎consisting of Marco Mezquida and Chicuelo and a concert by the ‎‎cantaora (Flamenco singer) Mayte Martín. ‎
Mezquida and Chicuelo will be at L’Auditori on ‎‎25 ‎October, accompanied by percussionist Paco de ‎Mode, to ‎premier their second joint album entitled No hay dos sin ‎tres ‎‎(Where There’s Two, There’s ‎Always Three)‎‏, ‏in which they celebrate ‎and perpetuate their ‎artistic and sublime communion. Two years have passed since the ‎launch of their first work ‎‎Conexión, often considered both a ‎masterpiece and a ‎revelation, which they have taken to some of the most prestigious venues ‎and events in the ‎world such as the Kölner Philharmonie, the Tokyo Jazz Festival and the Jazz ‎na Fábrica in São ‎Paulo, ‎and many others.‎
Mayte Martín, singer, composer and cantaora, will visit ‎L’Auditori on 15 November with Memento, prompting ‎us to remember, to engage in the healing activity of stirring the memory to pay homage to ‎that which came before and be thankful for that which was granted to us: the act of pausing ‎to reflect on the essential.‎
