El nou espectacle Banda Ampla inaugura la temporada de Familiars de L’Auditori amb totes les entrades venudes

08-Nov-2018 – Aleix Palau

L’Auditori’s Family Concert Season will open on Saturday 10 November with the new show ‎Banda Ampla. Composer Joan Albert Amargós and dramatist Jordi Oriol have co-created the ‎world’s first band guide for young people, inspired by the famous The Young Person’s Guide ‎to the Orchestra, written by Benjamin Britten over half a century ago to bring symphony ‎music to younger people.‎

Banda Ampla is a commission from L’Auditori’s Servei Educatiu and the Barcelona Symphony ‎Band that aims to highlight the different sounds and groups of instruments that form part of ‎this kind of musical ensemble. ‎

The fresh, pleasant music by Amargós comes together with fun stage design from Jordi Oriol ‎and sets and costumes from Joana Martí. The Barcelona Symphony Band is conducted by ‎Juan Miguel Romero. ‎

The music by Joan Albert Amargós is rounded of with Four Scottish Dances (Op. 59) by ‎Malcolm Arnold and Slava! by Leonard Bernstein. Around 4,000 children from schools all over ‎Catalonia will enjoy Banda Ampla between 7 and 9 November. ‎

The show’s official première, which has been sold out for months, will take place on 10 ‎November as part of L’Auditori’s Family programming.‎

Families attending the concert on the 10th will also be able to take part in an ‎Instagram competition consisting of taking a photo in front of L’Auditori’s photocall backdrop, ‎which will be located in the vestibule of Oriol Martorell Hall 2, and posting it with the hashtags ‎‎#enfamilia and #auditori. The prize will be four tickets to the Händel & Friends concert.‎

L’Auditori’s Servei Educatiu plans to schedule Banda Ampla again next season. ‎

A Servei Educatiu (educational service) with international acclaim
Every year, L’Auditori’s Servei Educatiu brings its events to over 168,000 people. It is a ‎pioneer and point of reference in Europe in preparing concerts, workshops and educational ‎material for school and family audiences of all ages.‎

Each season, we offer a programme of up to 26 different productions for families with ‎children of all ages, with over 90 concerts throughout the year. ‎

Each concert is specially designed for children, with a team of educators, composers, ‎musicians, choreographers and stage directors working to make their first musical experience ‎unique and special. We also offer the opportunity to do some ‘homework’ before the ‎concert through family workshops.‎
