The German pianist and composer Nils Frahm has sold out the almost 1,800 tickets released for the concert that he will be giving on 20 November as part of the Sit Back series at L’Auditori in Barcelona. The event has been organised with the collaboration of Primavera Sound.
The huge appeal of Nils Frahm’s concert confirms Sit Back’s positive evolution in its second edition with the huge popularity of the two concerts already held this season: Damien Jurado and Chassol.
The next Sit Back event will be on 1 December with Refree, who will be presenting his new album La otra mitad following the success of the soundtrack to Isaki Lacuesta’s film Entre dos aguas (Between Two Waters), which won the Golden Shell for the Best Film at the 2018 San Sebastián International Film Festival.
Nils Frahm: All Melody
Nils Frahm is known for his work which straddles classical and electronic music with his unconventional approach to the use of acoustic and electronic pianos and synthesisers.
In any project in which he is involved – be it by producing his own recordings or in the form of his many collaborations with other leading artists (F. S. Blumm, DJ Shadow, Machinefabriek, Ólafur Arnalds or his Nonkeen project, to name but a few) – you can feel that he wants to provide refuge to audiences who refuse to accept the giddy momentum of our rushed daily lives.
This capacity for abstraction conveyed by his music was palpable in his fantastic performance at this year’s Primavera Sound, where he presented his latest album All Melody. His next visit, scheduled for 9 pm on 20 November in Hall 1 of L’Auditori, undoubtedly promises an alternative ride to what we are used to hearing. A concert co-curated by L’Auditori and Primavera Sound.
