L’Auditori de Barcelona apropa la música contemporània als més petits

02-Feb-2021 – Aleix Palau

As part of its goal of bringing music from all styles and eras to the widest possible audience, L’Auditori de Barcelona is focusing its attention on new works for the next few days, with two concerts revolving around the music of current artists and composers.

The first event will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, 2 February at 7 pm, in Hall 2, Oriol Martorell. You will be able to enjoy the Ludvan ven Beethowig programme, in which the ensemble CrossingLines will present a portrait of various composers on the current international scene including, among others, Clara Iannotta and Daniel Moreira, conducted by Lorenzo Ferrándiz and with the artistic direction of Pablo Carrascosa Llopis.

In addition, the almost entirely sold out event Out of the [Cage], which was premiered shortly before the lockdown of March last year, is the most recent concert in L’Auditori de Barcelona’s Educational Project. The show, which will be held on Saturday, 6 February at 5 pm, will give young children the opportunity to discover the music of recent years thanks to a team of percussionists led by Frames Percussion, stage direction from Iban Beltran and Ana Pérez García, and a video creation by Aymée Hamon. The show, based on the works of the composer John Cage, one of the key figures of twentieth-century music, includes some of his music as well as that of contemporary composers such as Pierre Jodlowski, Georges Aperghis, Cie Kahlua, Steppenwolf and Fritz Hauser, to name but a few. There will also be performances for schoolchildren during the week.

So that people who are unable to travel to L’Auditori de Barcelona don’t miss out, the two concerts will be streamed live on the L’Auditori Digital platform.
