The conductor Karl-Heinz Steffens will conduct the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra performing Gustav Mahler’s “Tragic” Symphony, No. 6 in A minor, in place of Pinchas Steinberg, who will not be taking part in this production in Barcelona for reasons beyond the control of L’Auditori.
The tenth programme of the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra season will take place in Hall 1, the Pau Casals Hall, of L’Auditori on 18, 19 and 20 January. Mahler’s “Tragic” Symphony is one of the most impressive symphonic landmarks of all time. It is a gigantic, intense and dramatic work which will find in maestro Steffens one of its best possible collaborators of the contemporary scene.
