Joana Bailie created the audiovisual installation Long slow sweep specifically for the foyer of Sala 2.Joanna Bailie (London, 1973) is a composer, artist and co-founder of the Plus-Minus Ensemble. A regular at major European events involving new sound creation (Berlin’s MaerzMusik, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Darmstad, etc., Bailie has specifically created the audiovisual installation, Long slow sweep for the foyer of Sala 2. It is based on a school photo in panoramic format (10:2) dating from1946, taken with a special camera that required a slow movement between the two ends of the shot, and the work explores the relationships between time and distance, the length of the photographic moment and the connections between the time and space relationship from a visual and audio perspective.
