After the success of Homenaje a Martha Graham last October, L’Auditori’s sixth season of Escenes continues with three proposals in which music and the performing arts converse with each other.
The first event will be on 1 and 2 February, with Les Impuxibles and the show TOC Suite no. 2. What are the criteria for a healthy society? Sisters Clara and Ariadna Peya are taking part in L’Auditori’s Beethoven250 Festival with this piece about the symptoms of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, or “TOC” in Catalan) that makes us reflect on the isolation suffered by many other groups, such as people with impaired hearing, and on how they perceive art and reality. An accessible show in which sign language is simply another dramatic language.
From 20 to 23 February you can enjoy Corpus by Xavier Bobés. A co-production by L’Auditori and Teatros del Canal in Madrid involving an encounter between a sculpture, an object manipulator and a musician. A whispered scenic dialogue in which only 25 people can participate in each performance.
Here, the artist proposes an exploration of the movement of a sculptural object in relation to the human body, animals and plants. It is a poetic reflection on objectifying that seeks to find a way to interpret, transform and depict it.
The debut of the collective Demoledora, which brings together the director and mediaturgist Sara Serrano, the actor and creator David Climent (loscorderos.sc), the musician and performer Adriano Galante (Seward) and the architect Alessia Schoor, will offer a reflection on the issue of decent housing from the four artistic viewpoints of the members of the show. The performances will take place on 18 and 19 April.
Escenes, universes that come together in a single programme
The sixth season of Escenes consolidates L’Auditori as the voice of musical modernity in Barcelona. For this reason, this new laboratory continues its commitment to unique shows that combine live music with other disciplines.
Experimentation, the search for limits, the sum of talents and artistic risk drive opportunities for artists and audiences to grow together around a living and constantly changing show.
