Organized jointly by the Museum of Music and the Early Music Department of the Escola Superior de Música This commemorative concert series focusses on the 300 years of the birth of composer and musician Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, son of Johann Sebastian Bach. Organized jointly by the Museum of Music and the Early Music Department of the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, its five sessions will pay tribute to one of the most fascinating musical personalities of the second half of the eighteenth century and his family, one of the most outstanding in the history of music. The selected repertoire will give a complete idea of the relevance of Bach in European music of the eighteenth century and its subsequent legacy. Professors and graduate students and masters at the Department of Early Music Esmuc will play with period instruments.
