Program
In supercodex, visual artist and electronic music composer Ryoji Ikeda (1966, Gibu, Japan) explores the relationships between data of sound and sound of data, a quest that began with Dataplex (2005) and continued with Test pattern (2008). Ikeda seeks to create a mathematical approach to sound, arithmetic principles that make it possible to change logarithms in an expressive way, creating visual and sound representations of the information they contain. supercodex is built from different fragments Ikeda uses to create a meta-work that takes the listener through a progressive mutation of the auditory and visual materials, temporarily combined in an inseparable joint experience, connecting digital exploration with abstract techno in a live audiovisual session.
