The Joan Vidal Sextet performs REVISITING ZARATHUSTRA, a work based on Strauss’ symphonic poem and commissioned by the L’Auditori to composer Joan Vidal for the 2014-2015 season.For the 14-15 season the L’Auditori commissioned composer Joan Vidal with the adaptation of Richard Strauss’ symphonic poem “Thus Spoke Zarathustra”. Vidal worked with the different motives of this masterpiece of orchestral literature, adapting them to the sound of the sextet and running them through a filter of jazz, improvisation and contemporary music to compose this new suite entitled REVISITING ZARATHUSTRA.
