The jocular, good-humoured music of the Jordi Rabascall 12 to 12 Quintet is inspired by the jazz of the 1950s, the golden age of jazz performances, and is reminiscent of the famous Rat Pack headed by Frank Sinatra. The album was recorded in just two days with few re-recordings in order to reflect the free, improvisational feeling of a live performance. “Du the Duu Du” (PSM-Music, 2014) by the “12 to 12 Quartet” showcases the versatility of the musicians and the range of the lead singer, Jordi Rabascall. The songs transport us back to the original big band sound and unmiked singers in the style of modern crooners such as Jamie Cullum.
