Programme
The duet formed by Russian violinist Sergei Dogadin and Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan introduces us to one of the most delicate pieces in Maurice Ravel’s chamber repertoire, his Sonata in A Minor, which the French musician wrote in memory of Claude Debussy, who died five years before it was written. Suggestive and rarely performed pieces by Reinhold Glière, Zoltán Kodály, Johan Halvorsen and Komitas Vardapet share the programme with more recent works by Nathan Milstein and Giovanni Sollima, the latter for solo violin and cello respectively.
