Program
Born in Eisenach (Thuringia), into a musical family, the life of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) was immersed in music and instruments from day one. His father was a flautist and his musician brothers played the organ and the oboe. He grew up with organs, harpsichords and clavichords and wrote music for them all and also for violin, cello, viola da gamba, lute, trumpet, and more. In fact, he wrote music for almost all of the instruments of the time.Born in Eisenach (Thuringia), into a musical family, the life of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) was immersed in music and instruments from day one. The Barcelona Museu de la Música takes us on a journey through time so you can see them, all thanks to the beautiful collection of original baroque instruments it curates. This musical journey helps to reconstruct a personal and musical portrait of one of the greatest composers in the history of music.
Organised by: The Barcelona Museu de la Música in association with the Bachcelona Festival.
