Programme
The falcon and the phoenix were symbols of power in an Italy made up of a mosaic of states, until their unification in second half of the 19th century. Bologna, Florence, Perugia and the Papal States played a crucial role in the political life of Italy, along with Milan and Venice. The music of the time was a lucid, considered reflection of this scenario. This concert by the Sollazzo Ensemble, Medieval and Italian Renaissance music specialists, provides the perfect soundtrack for a century of clashes and struggles.
