The talent of our youngest musicians, conducted by Manel Valdivieso: the JONC with violinist Helena Satué. Works being performed include Bartók’s The Miraculous Mandarin.The Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya (JONC) returns for the OBC season to reveal Catalonia’s great reserve of musical talent and the continuous development of its members, under its own conductor, Manel Valdivieso. With the participation of up-and-coming violinist Helena Satué, it will be performing the concerto for violin and orchestra no. 2 by Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, whose Suite for Orchestra The Miraculous Mandarin, a one-act ballet of expressionist aesthetics and rhythms reminiscent of Stravinsky’s famous work, premièred in 1926 at the Cologne Opera house: The Rite of Spring.
