Program
An absolute must-see programme of the La Banda season, with choruses from the most famous operas by Verdi and Mascagni sung by the Cantiga and Sant Jordi Choirs. This year we are commemorating 200 years since the birth of Giuseppe Verdi and 150 since Pietro Mascagni’s, two of the most popular opera composers in history, authors of immortal works such as Aida, Nabucco and Cavalleria Rusticana. These authors need no anniversaries to make their music known, but Salvador Brotons has brought them together in a special concert that twins La Banda with a vast choir comprising the Cantiga and Sant Jordi choirs. Symphonic-choral music headlines a concert where audiences will also hear Brotons’ most recent symphony – the Sixth.
