L’energia, el ritme i les veus del gòspel tenen un magnetisme vital i encomanadís. Els concerts esdevenen experiències col·lectives inoblidables on públic i escenari bateguen conjuntament. “Ens apropa a allò que en diuen la catarsi, col·loca l’esperit a nivells que no esperàvem”, afirma Pascual-Vilaplana, “va més enllà del que és estrictament musical i toca el domini de les emocions humanes”, assevera Ramon Escalé.
The Barcelona Gospel Messengers join the Municipal Band to offer an unprecedented artistic creation at the highest level. The repertoire includes traditional themes, such as Satan We're Gonna Tear Your Kingdom Down or Yes Lord, Yes by the artist Shirley Caesar – with a record of 12 Grammy awards –, contemporary ballads or updated versions of classics of the genre.
The concert will begin with a piece by David Mancini, original for drums and percussion, in an arrangement for band by the Valencian composer Jesús Salvador "Chapi".
