The agreement was signed at the offices of the Damm Foundation, located in the former Estrella Damm factory, during a meeting attended by Ramon Agenjo, vice president and director of the Damm Foundation; Àlex Galí, general coordinator of the Damm Foundation; Robert Brufau, director of L’Auditori; Isabel Balliu, manager of L’Auditori; and Tere Sánchez, head of Sponsorship.
Opened in March 1999 and designed by the architect Rafael Moneo, L’Auditori de Barcelona has an area of 42,000 square metres and was the first concert hall in Spain to become a member of the European Concert Hall Organisation.
L’Auditori is also home to the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Band and the Museu de la Música. As a cultural institution, its aim is to bring Barcelona and Catalonia worldwide recognition through its own ongoing and inclusive musical activities. Its extensive social programme is complemented by an educational service, under the umbrella of the Apropa Cultura programme, which is aimed at all types of audiences and seeks to make culture accessible to everyone.
