Program
A city’s annual festival always brings out its most local and defining culture, that which most deeply connects people to a particular place. Barcelona Symphony Band now wants to bring us closer to this music specific to different peoples with very different perspectives as testimony to the great treasure of traditional music. Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, Bulgaria, eastern music and Catalonia’s own sardanas will all take us on a journey of sound to various places in the special time in which we are currently living, where physical distance has not resulted in social distance. Music may be one of the best tools we have to help us understand each other and think about the future. It’s party time: Let’s have fun!
