Pablo Rus Broseta is Music Director of the Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat Valenciana. Noted for his dynamic programming and cerebral yet sensitive interpretations, he is rapidly building a wide-ranging repertoire from Rameau to John Adams, with a focus on the great symphonic repertoire. He previously served as Assistant and then Associate Conductor of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.

Rus Broseta’s 21-22 season includes debuts with Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, Orquestra Nacional de España, and Basel Sinfonietta, and returns to SWR Symphonieorchester and Palau de les Arts in Valencia. Recent highlights include performances with the WDR Sinfonieorchester, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, and BBC Symphony Orchestra, as well as Ensemble Intercontemporain and Ensemble Modern; and in the Americas with the symphonies of Detroit, Houston, North Carolina, and Omaha, and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires.

Since leading a joint performance of the SWR Symphonieorchester and Ensemble Modern at the Musica Festival in Strasbourg 2014, Rus Broseta has maintained a close collaboration with both groups. He has appeared at numerous festivals including the Klangspuren Schwaz, Transart Festival Bolzano, Ensems Festival Valencia, and the Cresc… Festival Frankfurt.

He has worked closely with composers such as Wolfgang Rihm, Hans Zender, Johannes Maria Staud, Thomas Adès, Philippe Manoury, Magnus Lindberg, Martin Matalon, Francisco Coll, and Luca Francesconi.

In 2018, he released his first album with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra (Canteloupe Music) with music by the American composer Michael Gordon. In 2022, he published his second disc, with music by Marc García Vitoria, together with the Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat Valenciana and the viola Joaquín Riquelme.

During his time with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Rus Broseta led a wide variety of concerts, including Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony; concerti collaborations with Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, and Beatrice Rana; an opening night gala featuring Renée Fleming; concerto cycles of Shostakovich, Brahms and Prokofiev; and the album The Unchanging Sea, a music-film collaboration between composer Michael Gordon and filmmaker Bill Morrison.

Rus Broseta’s 22-23 season includes concerts with Galicia Symphony Orchestra Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, Basel Sinfonietta, etc. Recent highlights include performances with the WDR Sinfonieorchester, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, and BBC Symphony Orchestra, as well as Ensemble Intercontemporain and Ensemble Modern; and in the Americas with the symphonies of Detroit, Houston, North Carolina, and Omaha, and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires.
