Marc Serra is a pianist born in Barcelona who combines his career as a soloist with intense activity in the world of lied. He is described as a musician who «seems to have a primary, respectful and intimate relationship with music, as if he understands it from the cortex and breathes life into it» (Newspaper Núvol) and, according to Revista Musical Catalana, «pays absolute attention to the timbre and is subtle, sweet and tender when bringing out all kinds of sonorous nuances of the instrument.»

He made his debut as a soloist at the age of 16 at the Palau de Congressos Auditorium in Girona with the Orchestra of the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory under the baton of Lluís Caballeria and he was awarded in numerous national and international competitions. In 2017, he made his debut at the Palau de la Música as part of El Primer Palau. He has performed concerts in Spain and Switzerland in venues such as L'Auditori de Barcelona or the Grosser Saal of the Hochschule für Musik Basel, and festivals such as Nits de Clàssica or Jalgi! Voz Festival Vitoria.

As a lied pianist, he has made his debut at festivals such as the Schubertiada Vilabertran, the Oxford Lieder Festival or LIFE Victoria in Barcelona. He studied piano in Barcelona with Maria Jesús Crespo and in Basel with Claudio Martínez Mehner, and lied with Francisco Poyato and Anton Kernjak.

He has also received advice from teachers such as Luiz de Moura Castro, Ferenc Rados, Hartmut Höll or Wolfram Rieger. He has a scholarship from the Güell Foundation (2015) and the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation with whom he collaborates in the recording of the album Pau i Victòria and with whom he actively participates in the LIFE Victoria lied Festival. In the recent years, he has been a collaborating pianist with the Master of Lied Victoria de los Ángeles at the ESMuC.
