Laura Mejía studied singing under Júlia Conesa, Mati Pinkas, M. Àngels Sarroca and Mila Diulgerova.

Since 1994, she has performed in zarzuelas in theatres throughout Catalonia, including La Dolorosa, Gigantes y cabezudos, Doña Francisquita, La leyenda del beso, and La corte del Faraón. She played the role of Caterina in the zarzuela Cançó d’amor i de guerra at the Palau de la Música (1997) and performed in La verbena de la Paloma, directed by Calixto Bieito, at the Teatre Tívoli (1996-1997).

Since 2000, she has performed in Duesambduos, a concert of opera duets directed by David Cuspinera, in theatres around Catalonia.

She worked with Dagoll Dagom in the shows Els pirates (1997-1998-1999) and Mar i cel (2005); she played the role of Miranda in Mals d’amor d’una gata francesa, directed by Alfredo Arias at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (2000); she played the character of the niece in Gaudí, directed by José A. Gutiérrez, “Guti”, at the Barcelona Teatre Musical (2002); and as a member of the Peplvm company, she performed in Sondheim (Déus del teatre, somrieu!), directed by Òscar Mas, at the Teatre Gaudí in Barcelona (2008).

She teaches singing at the MusicWood and Memory schools in Barcelona.
