The Gamelan Barasvara, founded in 2020 and directed by Lluís Solsona, is a Balinese gamelan group with a permanent residency at the Museum of Music in Barcelona.

With the goal of deepening the musical and choreographic interpretation of the Balinese tradition, the group also embraces a local perspective and fosters artistic experimentation with gamelan.

Since its creation, it has collaborated with Balinese composer and group mentor A.A.B.G. Krishna Putra Sutedja, who has composed works such as Abrakadabyar (2020), Kala Sungsang (2020), Renjana (2022), Lascarya (2022), Merapi (2023), and Legong Kreasi Brihannala (2024). It also collaborates with local composers such as Violeta Tello, with La Danza de la Guerrera (2023), and Gerard Erruz, with Ígnia (2024), as well as academic expert Kendra Stepputat. The group actively works to generate and sustain collaborations with artists from various European gamelan communities, such as Balinese dancer Eka Santi Dewi.

In its commitment to a well-informed and faithful interpretation of the traditional Balinese repertoire, it includes performers who travel regularly to Bali to study under masters like I Ketut Cater, I Ketut Senter, and I Nyoman Karnata.

The group performs regularly at the Museum of Music, including participation in the Trànsits series, where it has been featured in the first three editions. It has also performed at the Mostra Sonora at the Convent de Sant Agustí (2023), Sala Montjuïc (2023), Hangar (2024), and the Festival de Música Singular in Malla (2024).
