The friendship that united them after having met at Escolania de Montserrat and the desire to continue making music together prompted six musicians to found, in 2018, the Cor Cererols. The choir takes the name of another musician who was also a student of Montserrat: Joan Cererols, composer of the Catalan Baroque and one of the fathers of the School of Montserrat.

Cor Cererols was also born with the desire and passion to recover, interpret and disseminate choral music from the 15th century to contemporary authors, with special emphasis on early music, which they have lived and sung since they were very young, and all that of authors from other eras that still remain to be recovered. To do this, in addition to the six founding members, the choir has a set of regular collaborators depending on the characteristics of each repertoire.

In 2020, the choir makes its recording debut with the album Cum Silentio, an album on which it recovers a large part of the choral work of Fr. Anselm Ferrer (1882 – 1969) and which has earned it recognition from the critics international, being nominated for the 2021 ICMA awards as one of the 20 best choral music albums of 2020.

Cor Cererols has performed at some of the main Festivals in the country, such as the LLums d'Antiga Festival in L'Auditori de Barcelona, ​​the Espurnes Barroques Festival, the Torroella de Montgrí Fringe Festival, the Montserrat International Organ Festival, Músiques del Retaulehe in Vilanova i la Geltrú or at the Easter Concert at Reial Monestir de Pedralbes. The has also participated in the last editions of the Antigua and Baroque Music Festival in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. During the 21-22 season, it has been selected to participate in the Joventuts Musicals de Catalunya concert catalogue, performing concerts all over Catalonia.
