Founded in 2003, the Barcelona Bruckner Choir initially focussed its repertoire on Baroque music. Starting in 2007, when Júlia Sesé became the director, it shifted to the music of the 20th and 21st centuries. Today, the Barcelona Bruckner Choir has established itself as one of the leading choral ensembles in Catalonia and is known for its distinctive and refined sound, especially in a cappella performances. The choir combines high standards and a passion for music with great versatility and a deep commitment to each project.

It has worked with ensembles and institutions such as the Barcelona Symphonic Band, the Terrassa 48 Orchestra, the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia, the Catalan Baroque Orchestra and the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, and has performed at venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, L’Auditori de Barcelona and the Gran Teatre del Liceu. The choir has won awards in several competitions and has participated in the International Choral Contest of Tolosa. It has also served as a pilot choir in Catalan Federation of Choirs (FCEC) choral management courses with prestigious directors. Under the direction of Mireia Barrera and Josep Vila i Casañas, as well as Frieder Bernius and Helmuth Rilling, it has performed at the World Symposium on Choral Music.
