The second artist’s portrait session presents us with Django Bates as pianist and front man of The Belovèd Trio. Bates debuts his new work as part of a quintet, with his trio being joined by two special young musicians: Swiss vocalist Clara Huguenin and Norwegian saxophonist Marius Neset. The concert at the L’Auditori follows on the heels of the international debut of this work at Wigmore Hall in London. The work proposes music with fluid lines and frenetic tempos that lead us through a world of deep emotions. Django Bates’ portrait will conclude next season with a project from the ESMUC’s Big Band.
