Program

One of the most magical Christmas moments is seeing children smile. The excitement of receiving gifts from the Christmas log (Catalan tradition) and the Three Kings puts smiles on faces from ear to ear and puts the children centre stage. The music in this concert is inspired by this magical time and features classical and modern works performed by the voices of VEUS, the Children’s Choir “Amics de la Unió” from Granollers.When Bizet found out his wife was pregnant, he composed a work inspired by children’s games including the spinning top, doll and tin soldiers. The result was a charming musical arrangement expressing joy and fun from the very first note. David by Melillo was inspired by the fight between David and Goliath and is a work of hope, whereas To the Stars! and Celtic Child are original works for a children’s choir and symphonic band. To the Stars! is a journey to space full of adventures and Celtic Child features different moments in a child’s life with a thrilling final dance. To finish, Albert Guinovart presents a suite featuring some of our most popular Christmas music.
