Program

Xavi Torres is one of the most acclaimed jazz musicians on the national scene.
A composer and pianist, his training in classical and jazz music at the Catalonia College of Music (ESMUC) and at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam has given him a mastery of the instrument and a versatility in the language that has made him stand out in competitions such as the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award and the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition. To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven, who provides the inspiration for L’Auditori’s entire programme this season, Xavi Torres will perform some of the Maestro’s sonatas in trio format. With great respect for the original work, Torres will make it his own and explain it to us through the rhythmic exuberance, the timbric richness and the textural depth that characterises his musical language.
