Program
Each season, the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) selects its “Rising Stars”, prominent young performers who are offered the opportunity to tour the auditoriums that are part of the organisation. The Festival Emergents Barcelona presents three ECHO Rising Stars artists in two concerts. In the second of these concerts, we will get to know the versatile and multi-award-winning percussionist Vanessa Porter, who combines a classical repertoire with improvisation, electronica and performance on world tours. Porter offers a concert with a variety of instruments – body percussion, a zarb drum and voice, vibraphone, multi-percussion and electronica – in a programme that features works from the large contemporary repertoire, such as The Anvil Chorus for multi-percussion by David Lang or Le corps à corps for zarb and voice by Georges Aperghis, as well as the state premieres of two commissions from the ECHO-L’Auditori and her own work Folie for sounds and electronica.
