Program

(Un)folding strings consists of a series of pieces for electric guitar based on performing specific actions on the instrument and extremely limited harmonics articulated through the multiple interpretative variations provided by the musicians.

Started in 2019, the series serves as a springboard for explaining, from a ‘less is more’ perspective, a music forged from simplicity and containing the fewest elements possible: a sound environment in which sound, environmental noise and silence co-exist.

(un)folding strings shows the most fragile aspect of the guitar and approaches it from an unusual sound perspective; constituting a music forged from simplicity in which silence supports the musical discourse. And it is in this supposed simplicity that the complexity of the work lies, both for the musicians and the listeners.
