Program
The Barcelona Symphony Band will be performing at the Palau de la Música Catalana, with an almost monographic programme focused on the music of Richard Strauss, in addition to Swiss composer Franco Cesarini. The band’s principal conductor, José Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana, will lead the band in a performance of emblematic works by the German composer, such as Serenade in E-flat major, the symphonic poem Death and Transfiguration and Festive Music for the City of Vienna–the last two adapted for band. The programme will conclude with Alpine Poem, which describes the Alpine scenery of Cesarini’s country of birth.
