Program

The Barcelona Symphony Band will be performing at the Palau de la Música Catalana, with an ‎almost monographic programme focused on the music of Richard Strauss, in addition to Swiss ‎composer Franco Cesarini. The band’s principal conductor, José Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana, will ‎lead the band in a performance of emblematic works by the German composer, such as ‎‎Serenade in E-flat major, the symphonic poem Death and ‎Transfiguration and Festive Music for the City of Vienna–the last two ‎adapted for band. The programme will conclude with Alpine Poem, which ‎describes the Alpine scenery of Cesarini’s country of birth.‎
