Program

SOPA DE CABRA celebrate their 30th anniversary at the L’Auditori.1986 was the year in which the group from Girona started to create songs and to perform as Sopa de Cabra, a name derived from The Rolling Stones’ album “Goat’s Head Soup”. Since then, the group has cultivated one of the most successful careers in Catalan music: their discography consists of 11 studio albums and four live albums, they’ve won three Golden Record awards and one silver and they hold the record for the best-selling album of Catalan pop rock in history, “Ben endins”. In 2011 Sopa de Cabra achieved did what no other group singing in Catalan has ever done: packing out Palau Sant Jordi three days in a row.

As Sopa de Cabra said during their comeback in 2011, they would only return to the stage again if they had new songs to perform. And “Cercles” is the name of this album of new songs, released in November last year and the biggest-selling Catalan music album at Christmas. Sopa de Cabra sold more tickets in 2015 than any other group singing in Catalan and they look set to achieve this feat again in 2016.

Not content with celebrating their anniversary in the traditional way, Sopa de Cabra are taking to the road again to surprise everyone with an anniversary tour entitled “30 anys – 3 ciutats”(30 years – 3 cities). The group will play in cities that have been an important part of their career but will break away from the usual circuit.
