We are offering you a unique opportunity to be part of a symphonic experience singing in a 300-strong choir in a concert in the main hall at L’Auditori. The choir will be accompanied by the Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra under the baton of our principal conductor, maestro Kazushi Ono.

The period to sign up is over. We will contact all applicants after 7 January to confirm whether they have been selected or not.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT

Preparation will begin in January and last for three months, during which time rehearsals will be held in L’Auditori until the week of the concerts, from 24 to 28 April 2018, when the choir will have the opportunity to work alongside the OBC musicians for two joint rehearsals before performing in the two final concerts in Hall 1 Pau Casals. The concerts will include well-known operatic and symphonic choral pieces.

Choir director Elisenda Carrasco and stage director Marc Rosich will work with the singers and coach a handful of presenters to bring some theatre to the concert.

Rehearsals last an hour and three quarters and will be held on an almost weekly basis at L’Auditori. To take part in the concerts you must be able to attend at least 8 of the 12 scheduled rehearsals.

The cost for participants is €25. L’Auditori will provide the musical scores for the concert, access to its facilities and a wealth of experience from the OBC team and musicians.

This project is part of a joint initiative involving several European orchestras with the aim of reaching new audiences and is supported and funded by the European Union through the European Orchestra Laboratory.
