There will be an entire day dedicated to string quartets at the Emergents Festival with a very special guest: Jonathan Brown, Casals Quartet viola.There will be an entire day dedicated to string quartets at the Emergents festival with a very special guest: Jonathan Brown, violist with the Casals Quartet. This triple concert opens with the debut of the Quartuor Hanson, which emerged from the Conservatory of Music in Paris, and which was recently awarded 2nd Prize at the Geneva International Quartets Competition in 2016. The day will continue with the Cosmos Quartet, one of the most outstanding new Catalan ensembles of the moment. They were semi-finalists at the Geneva competition and came 3rd in the Carl Nielsen International Competition. The day will close with the debut of the Calidore String Quartet, who were taken under the wing of the legendary Emerson Quartet. In recent years, the Calidore String Quartet has been awarded the most prestigious international prizes: the Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Artist award, the ARD Munich International String Quartet Competition and the Hamburg International Chamber Music Competition.
