PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN THE NEXT OFFERING FROM THE OBCINEMA SEASON

29-Feb-2016 – Lisi Andrés

After the success of Gladiator Live, Captain Jack Sparrow and the fantastic soundtrack of Klaus Badelt andHans Zimmer will be the attraction of the next offering from the OBCinema season on the weekend of 1, 2 and 3 April.

The Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl, is the OBCinema season’s latest offering which will allow spectators to enjoy the best soundtracks while they watch the film on a giant screen. After the success of Gladiator Live, which sold out, it’s now the turn of Jack Sparrow, the young Will Turner and the beautiful Elizabeth Swann to thrill the audience with their adventures while they sit back and enjoy the fabulous soundtrack composed by Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer and performed live by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra. This story that is entertaining, passionate and spectacular, just like the music that accompanies it, was orchestrated by a team of nine composers. The magnificent soundtrack, whisking the OBC off to Tortuga Island, will be performed under the baton of conductor David Firman and accompanied by the voices of the Ensemble O Vos Omnes male choir.

The OBCinema season promises a unique experience that will allow the audience to watch a film while listening to its soundtrack being played live. This season also offers you the chance to both see and hearDanny Elfman perform music from Tim Burton films (14 and 15 of May), which will be the last proposal this year. The Auditori’s programme dedicated to the great soundtracks in cinema history, and performed by the OBC, reaffirms its desire to open up to new audiences and to work at bringing music to the city. This proposal allows those who have never before heard the Orchestra perform live to discover it for the first time and will encourage them to continue to enjoy symphony music. To facilitate this continuity, the Auditori will recommend other symphony music that they may find interesting. This initiative began last season with The Lord of the Rings and the response was very positive. In the same vein, the OBC continues to open its general rehearsals, free of charge, to different groups so that they can discover the work of the Orchestra.
