The concert, as part of the Festival Emergents Barcelona, features Brahms’ Double Concerto ‎for Violin and Cello as the main piece, a unique work in its genre that requires the closest ‎rapport between the two performers.‎

Sisters Kristine and Margarita Balanas (violin and cello) will debut with the OBC, as will the ‎Catalan pianist Albert Cano, winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions 2019. ‎

‎Pablo Rus Broseta ‎
Pablo Rus Broseta is one of the most highly-esteemed Spanish conductors on the ‎international circuit. In 2015, he was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Seattle Symphony ‎and two years later he held the position of Associate Conductor there until the 18/19 season. ‎He has conducted many soloists with this orchestra including Itzhak Perlman, Renée Fleming ‎and Joshua Bell, among others.‎

During his career, he has directed monograph programmes of work by Prokofiev, ‎Shostakovich and Brahms, and soloists such as Beatrice Rana, Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Moreau and ‎Ingrid Fliter, amongst others. He has also presided over orchestras such as the BBC ‎Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Les Siècles, Detroit Symphony, Orlando Philharmonic, ‎Houston Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires, Beethoven Orchester ‎Bonn, Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana and ‎the Ensemble intercontemporain.‎

He has a particularly close relationship with ensembles such as the WDR Sinfonieorchester in ‎Cologne, the WR Symphonieorchester in Stuttgart, the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da ‎Música in Porto, the Orquestra de València and the Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt.‎

During the 19/20 season, he debuts with orchestras including the Orquestra Simfònica del ‎Principat d’Astúries (with Simkon Trpčeski), the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, the Barcelona ‎Symphony Orchestra (with Fazil Say at the Festival Radio France), the Orquesta Sinfónica de ‎Galicia (with Josep Colom) and returns for seasons with the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto ‎Casa da Música, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt, etc.‎
