Nous espectacles per a la temporada de Familiars de L’Auditori, que comença demà amb Banda Ampla

25-Oct-2019 – Aleix Palau

The starting gun for L’Auditori’s Family Concert season will be fired tomorrow, starting with Broadband, which was premiered last season. The performance, which will be provided by the Barcelona Symphony Band, is the world’s first young person’s guide to symphony bands. The work, written by composer Joan Albert Amargós and playwright Jordi Oriol, takes its inspiration from the well-known The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra written by Benjamin Britten over half a century ago to introduce children to symphonic music.

The other great show introduced last season to be performed again is The OBC Dances to Ravel, performed by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra with National Dance Award winner Antonio Ruz’s stage direction and choreography.

The show centres around the music and story of Mother Goose, one of Maurice Ravel’s most spectacular and representative symphonic works. A group of dancers will use the music to recount some of the most famous children’s stories of all time, such as Beauty and the Beast, Tom Thumb and Sleeping Beauty.

The season’s new shows are Out of the [Cage] and Tutti fan piu.
This season, the L’Auditori Servei Educatiu (Educational Service) presents two new shows for the youngest members of the family. Between 9 and 17 May you will be able to enjoy Tutti fan piu, a show in which a variety of birds sing and dance to old pieces of music in very different styles. With music direction by Marta Roma and stage direction by Montse Roig.

Out of the [Cage] takes children from 6 years onwards to a world in which sound, noise and silence get together to make music. A journey led by the Frames Percussion ensemble with stage direction by Iban Beltran and Anna Pérez performing 21st-century works based on the artistic imagination of John Cage. This will take place on 7 March 2020.

A world-class educational service
The season will wrap up with some of our very own star shows, including The New Colours of Brass, Zoom, Händel & Friends, Sonets de joguina, Planet Clarinet, Pica-So, Maaambo!!! and Ma, me, mi…Mozart!, among others.

The work of the L’Auditori Educational Service benefits over 168,000 people each year. It is a European leader and pioneer in the production of concerts, workshops and educational materials for both school and family audiences of all ages.

Every season includes a programme of up to 26 different productions for families with children of all ages, with over 90 concerts throughout the year.

Each concert is tailored specifically for children. A team of education experts, composers, musicians, choreographers and stage directors work hard to make their first musical experience special and unique. There are also family workshops to prepare for the concert.
