L’Auditori opens its Cambra season with choral works by Robert Gerhard

The new Música de Cambra season opens on 14 ‎October at L’Auditori de Barcelona. The season will begin with a concert dedicated ‎to the folk-inspired choral music of Robert Gerhard, to mark the 125th ‎anniversary of the composer’s birth. ‎

Soprano María Hinojosa Montenegro and mezzosoprano Anna Alàs i Jové, ‎accompanied by Francisco Poyato and Anna Crexells on piano, will ‎perform cycles dedicated to Catalan and French folksong, together with 7 Haiku for chamber ‎ensembles conducted by Francesc Prat. ‎

This concert is part of a recording project to which the L’Auditori ‎contributed a recording by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra of ‎Gerhard’s Cancionero de Pedrell (1941) and ‎‎Six Catalan folksongs (1928).
