L'Auditori participates in the Ciutat Flamenco Festival with the premiere of a show that pays homage to ‎Paco de Lucía

Once again, L'Auditori is taking part in this year’s Ciutat Flamenco Festival ‎with the premiere of Suite de Lucía, a concert that pays homage to the ‎great maestro. It will take place on 22 October in Sala 2, Oriol Martorell ‎featuring some of his most iconic songs arranged by Joan Albert Amargós, Santiago ‎Galán and David Leiva.‎

Paco de Lucía was not only one of the greatest guitarists of all times, but ‎his way of understanding flamenco and bringing it to life contributed decisively to this music ‎genre finding its way onto the world stage, de Lucía also being one of the first flamenco ‎artists to branch out into other music forms such as jazz.‎
With their musical expertise and vast knowledge of jazz and flamenco, Amargós, Galán and ‎Leiva have been able to explore de Lucía's music in depth, and in Suite de Lucía ‎reveal the marvellous musicality for big band they have created with their arrangements.‎

The show, co-produced by L'Auditori, Taller de Músics and the Escola Superior de ‎Música de Catalunya, will be directed by Amargós and feature the ‎involvement of teachers and pupils of both schools who will be joined by artists ‎that accompanied de Lucía during his career, such as Carles Benavent and Antonio ‎Serrano.‎
