The extension of the situation means that, since the start of lockdown, 37 of L’Auditori’s scheduled programmes have not been able to take place: 20 concerts and 17 schools’ events. In addition to the previously-announced concerts, there are further cancellations including the tribute to composer, pianist and music theorist Josep Cercós by Josep Cabré and Miquel Villalba on 15 April in Sala 4 Alicia de Larrocha.
Performances of the show Demoledora, part of the Escenes season on 18 and 19 April, have also been cancelled, as has the recital by countertenor Franco Fagioli and Il Pomo d’Oro on 19 April.
As part of the Ibercamera season, audience members will now not be able to enjoy Ravel’s Piano Concerto with pianist Martha Argerich and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra on 20 April.
With regard to concerts by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the programme that was to have been conducted by Kazushi Ono, accompanied by clarinettist Andreas Ottensamer on 23, 24 and 25 April, is also affected.
During that same weekend, the concerts by Xavi Torres on 24 April with the Ensemble Musikfabrik and Ellen Nisbeth on 25 April have also been cancelled, as has the concert by the Barcelona Symphony Band and soprano Marta Mathéu on Sunday 26 April.
The concerts by L’Auditori’s Servei Educatiu (Educational Service), namely the Maaambo!(18 April) and the Ma, Me, Mi… Mozart!(18 and 19 April) family concerts, have been cancelled, as has the Tutti fan piu workshop for families (19 and 26 April).
As previously announced, the tours by James Blake and Cécile McLorin, who were to perform at L’Auditori on 27 April and 7 May respectively, and the also the tour of the Prisoner of the State opera by David Lang, scheduled for 3 July, have also been cancelled.
