L’Auditori and Ibercamera present concerts by Maria João Pires, Pinchas Zukerman and Fumiaki Miura ‎in Barcelona

L’Auditori and Ibercamera present concerts by Maria João Pires, Pinchas Zukerman and Fumiaki Miura ‎in Barcelona

The violinist Fumiaki Miura will be in Barcelona for two very ‎special programmes, in which he will be accompanied by two of the most ‎revered musicians of our time: Pinchas Zukerman and Maria João Pires.‎

The Japanese soloist will debut with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra ‎this weekend (3, 4 and 5 December) accompanied by violinist and ‎conductor Pinchas Zukerman. Together they will perform the Double Violin ‎Concerto by Bach, and Miura will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. ‎The programme will be completed with two major works by the latter composer – A ‎Midsummer Night’s Dream and the “Italian” Symphony.‎

With this concert, Pinchas Zukerman returns to the OBC, the first time ‎since his last performance as conductor and soloist in 2008. He had previously performed ‎with the OBC in 1996 and 2002.‎

On 1 December, Fumiaki Miura will offer a chamber concert at the ‎‎Palau de la Música Catalana as part of the Ibercamera season, ‎accompanied by the pianist Maria João Pires. They will perform Three Romances for ‎Violin and Piano by Schumann, Sonata for Violin and Piano in G minor by ‎Debussy, Violin Sonata in A minor, op. 137, no. 2, D. 385 by Schubert and ‎Beethoven’s “Spring” Sonata.‎
