The violinist Fumiaki Miura will be in Barcelona for two very special programmes, in which he will be accompanied by two of the most revered musicians of our time: Pinchas Zukerman and Maria João Pires.
The Japanese soloist will debut with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra this weekend (3, 4 and 5 December) accompanied by violinist and conductor Pinchas Zukerman. Together they will perform the Double Violin Concerto by Bach, and Miura will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. The programme will be completed with two major works by the latter composer – A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the “Italian” Symphony.
With this concert, Pinchas Zukerman returns to the OBC, the first time since his last performance as conductor and soloist in 2008. He had previously performed with the OBC in 1996 and 2002.
On 1 December, Fumiaki Miura will offer a chamber concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana as part of the Ibercamera season strong>, accompanied by the pianist Maria João Pires. They will perform Three Romances for Violin and Piano by Schumann, Sonata for Violin and Piano in G minor by Debussy, Violin Sonata in A minor, op. 137, no. 2, D. 385 by Schubert and Beethoven’s “Spring” Sonata.
