The work by Mallorcan Joana Gomila is like the perfect combination of Maria del Mar Bonet and Björk, the result is both cheerful and mischievous. The singer and her talented band re-energise and produce a folklore version of “Folk Souvenir” with Balearic roots and a pop influence which includes samples of elderly voices singing anything from traditional tunes to songs by Antònia Font. Escenes brings to L’Auditori the Mallorcan artist and her "Folk souvenir" with dance by Lali Ayguadé, one of the most interesting choreographers on the scene today. Gomila has worked in theatres with directors such as Andrés Lima and is one of the founders of circus company Hotel Iocandi. And, for her part, Ayguadé has danced with Akram Khan, Hofesh Shechter, La Veronal and Baró d’Evel, and has choreographed many solo and group pieces. The combination of these two artists is sure to produce a rounded performance with great poetic force.
