For the first time this year, the Primavera Sound will add a new indoor venue to its programme, L’Auditori. These two concerts will be held before the festival doors open in the Parc del Fòrum, and access will be through the usual channels.Watch a horror film (or series) without the music. So? It isn’t frightening is it? The soundtracks of horror stories appeal to and awaken our most hidden fears, the ones that no image could ever reveal. And Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein (S U R V I V E) know this well. That is why the suggestive soundtrack from the two seasons of Stranger Things is a phenomenon in itself; it doesn’t even need the images. The analogic voluptuousness of Dixon and Stein’s synthwave alone lights the fuse of nostalgia for a cinema lover and activates the demons that sleep in our imagination. So a performance exhaling the fumes of this repertoire in red on black not only sets off an attack of “Strangerthingitis”, everyone will feel the fear.
