The Festival Emergents Barcelona presents two young performers who have stood out in recent editions of the Permanent Competition for Young Musicians. These are harpsichordist Inés Moreno, winner of the first edition of the Early Music Competition in 2018, and Portuguese mezzosoprano Helena Ressurreição, who trained at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and won first prize in the singing category in 2017.

DOWNLOAD THE LYRICS OF THE HELENA RESSURREIÇAO CONCERT HEREMoreno’s recital focuses on the European dream represented by the Enlightenment and addresses the relationships established by composers from different countries: the important French keyboard school, with figures such as Claude-Bénigne Balbastre, Joseph-Nicolas-Pancrace Royer, Antoine Forqueray and Jacques Duphly; the connections between Italy and Spain, represented by the relationship between Domenico Scarlatti and Father Antoni Soler; and the masterful synthesis of styles portrayed by the work of Johann Sebastian Bach. Ressurreição’s concert will highlight the richness of ways in which to approach the composition for voice and piano that existed during the 19th century, with works by Grieg, Mahler, Debussy, Duparc and Tchaikovsky.
