Nominated eight times for an Oscar - from Rain Man (1988) to Interstellar (2014) - Hans Zimmer’s film career has been full of successes over the last 25 years: Thelma & Louise, The Lion King, As Good As It Gets, The Prince of Egypt, Pearl Harbor, Spirit, The Last Samurai, The Da Vinci Code, Pirates of the Caribbean and many more. However, with Gladiator, on which he worked with Lisa Gerrard, he excelled himself. The well-known singer from Dead Can Dance, who in the film sings the famous song “Now We Are Free”, shared with Zimmer the unanimous acclaim for their work: they won the Golden Globe. And nobody could now imagine the story of Captain Maximus, played by Russell Crowe, without the music that accompanies him from the battles in Germania to the fights to the death in the Colosseum in Rome.

Hans Zimmer is one of the most significant film composers of recent years, but it was in 2000 that he really made his name, with the film Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott. For the film he provided music that covers all types of register: epic, energetic, sensitive, etc. It offers a unique experience to go back in time, with a giant screen and a live orchestra.
