First performance of Lang Lang at L’Auditori. It will take place on April 22th during his annual tour, which has brought him to the most important European concert halls.
After touring some of the finest concert halls in the world (New York Philharmonic, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Berlin Philharmonie, Royal Albert Hall in London, Musikverein in Vienna, etc.), Lang Lang arrives at L’Auditori for a single recital of works composed by JS Bach (Partita no.1 in B flat major), Franz Schubert (Sonata B flat Major, D.960) and F.Chopin (Etudes, op. 25)
Only 29 years old, Lang Lang has become a classical music star. He has achieved audiences and critics’ respect and has positioned himself as a pianist of great musical talent combined with an unusual image in classical music. The New York Times considers him "the most innovative artist in the world of classical music" certified by his thousands of followers on Twitter or his concerts seen by millions on YouTube.
Lang Lang started playing the piano when he was only 3 years old. He heard the Hungarian Rhapsody by Franz Liszt while watching Tom&Jerry cartoons and 26 years later, his tribute album to the Hungarian composer has sold thousands of copies. His performance at the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympics in 2008, was viewed by over 5,000 million people and since then his reputation has kept growing.
